Club History
FC Augsburg were founded in 1907 in the Bavarian city of Augsburg, one of Germany's oldest cities. The club spent the vast majority of their history in the lower divisions before earning promotion to the Bundesliga in 2011. Since then, Augsburg have defied expectations by establishing themselves as a consistent Bundesliga side, even qualifying for the Europa League in 2015-16.
