Club History
AFC Bournemouth was founded in 1899 as Boscombe St John's Institute and spent much of their history in the lower divisions of English football. The club's remarkable rise under Eddie Howe saw them climb from League Two to the Premier League in just six years, achieving promotion to the top flight for the first time in 2015. Under Andoni Iraola, the Cherries have established themselves as a competitive Premier League side known for their exciting attacking football. The Vitality Stadium, one of the smallest grounds in the Premier League, gives the club a unique intimate atmosphere.
