Club History
Brentford Football Club was founded in 1889 and spent the vast majority of their history outside the top flight of English football. The club's innovative use of data analytics and smart recruitment under owner Matthew Benham transformed them from a lower-league side into a Premier League fixture. Thomas Frank led Brentford to promotion to the Premier League in 2021, their first time in the top flight since the 1946-47 season. The Gtech Community Stadium, opened in 2020, replaced their beloved Griffin Park which had served as home since 1904.
