Stade Brestois 29 were founded in 1950 in the port city of Brest on the western tip of Brittany. The club spent most of their history in the lower divisions of French football before earning promotion to Ligue 1 in 2019. Their extraordinary 2023-24 season saw them finish third in Ligue 1 and qualify for the Champions League for the first time, one of the most remarkable stories in French football.
