Club History
SC Freiburg were founded in 1904 in the beautiful Black Forest city of Freiburg, one of Germany's sunniest and most environmentally conscious cities. Under the legendary Volker Finke and later Christian Streich, Freiburg established a model of sustainable football — developing players through their academy, playing attractive football, and competing effectively against much wealthier clubs. Streich managed the club for over a decade, becoming one of the Bundesliga's most beloved figures.
