Club History
Genoa Cricket and Football Club were founded in 1893 and are the oldest football club in Italy. The club won nine Italian championships between 1898 and 1924, making them one of the pioneers of Italian football. Genoa share the Stadio Luigi Ferraris with city rivals Sampdoria in one of Italian football's most intense derbies. After years in Serie B, Genoa returned to Serie A and have been working to re-establish themselves among Italy's top clubs.
