Club History
Girona FC were founded in 1930 in the Catalan city of Girona and spent the vast majority of their history in Spain's lower divisions. The club's modern transformation came through the investment of the City Football Group (Manchester City's owners) and Pere Guardiola, brother of Pep. In the 2023-24 season, Girona sensationally finished third in La Liga and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history, playing some of the most attractive football in Europe under manager Michel.
