TSG 1899 Hoffenheim were founded in 1899 but only rose to prominence through the investment of software billionaire Dietmar Hopp, who grew up in the village of Hoffenheim. The club rose from the regional leagues to the Bundesliga by 2008 and briefly topped the table in their first season. Julian Nagelsmann became the youngest coach in Bundesliga history when he took charge of Hoffenheim at age 28.
