US Lecce were founded in 1908 in the city of Lecce in the Puglia region of southern Italy, known as the "Florence of the South" for its stunning Baroque architecture. The club has spent much of their history oscillating between Serie A and the lower divisions. Lecce are the most successful club from the Salento area and have a passionate fanbase.
