Club History
Liverpool Football Club was founded in 1892 following a dispute between Everton and their Anfield landlord John Houlding. The club became the dominant force in English and European football during the 1970s and 1980s, winning four European Cups under Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, and Joe Fagan. The Hillsborough disaster of 1989 profoundly shaped the club's identity and their campaign for justice. Under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool won the Champions League in 2019 and their first league title in 30 years in 2020, before Arne Slot took charge in 2024.
