Club History
RCD Mallorca were founded in 1916 on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca and have been a fixture in Spanish football for over a century. The club's greatest achievement came in 1999 when they won the Copa del Rey and reached the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup final. Mallorca also reached the Champions League group stages in 2001-02. Based in the popular tourist destination of Palma, the club faces similar logistical challenges to Las Palmas as an island-based team.
