Club History
Newcastle United were formed in 1892 from the merger of Newcastle East End and Newcastle West End and quickly became one of English football's great institutions. The Magpies won three consecutive league titles between 1905 and 1907 and added a fourth in 1927, establishing themselves as a powerhouse of the early 20th century. Kevin Keegan's "Entertainers" era in the mid-1990s captured the nation's imagination despite narrowly missing out on the title. The Saudi Arabian-backed consortium's takeover in 2021 has ushered in a new era of ambition under Eddie Howe.
