Club History
Nottingham Forest were founded in 1865 and are one of the oldest football clubs in the world. The club's greatest era came under the legendary Brian Clough, who took Forest from the Second Division to European Cup champions in just three years — winning back-to-back European Cups in 1979 and 1980, a feat that remains unmatched by any English club. After decades of decline including time in the third tier, Forest returned to the Premier League in 2022. The City Ground, situated on the banks of the River Trent, is just 300 yards from Notts County's Meadow Lane.
