Club History
Stade de Reims were founded in 1931 and were the dominant force in French football during the 1950s and early 1960s. The club reached two European Cup finals — in 1956 against Real Madrid (the first ever European Cup final) and again in 1959. Reims won six French league titles during their golden era before declining and spending decades in the lower divisions. The club returned to Ligue 1 in 2018.
