Club History
SV Werder Bremen were founded in 1899 and have been one of the most successful clubs in northern Germany. The club won four Bundesliga titles and six DFB-Pokals, with their greatest era coming under manager Otto Rehhagel in the 1980s and 1990s. Thomas Schaaf then led Bremen to the historic double in 2004. After a shock relegation in 2021, Werder returned to the Bundesliga.
