Club History
West Ham United were founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks FC by shipyard workers in East London and adopted their current name in 1900. Known as "The Academy of Football," West Ham have produced some of England's greatest players including Bobby Moore, Geoff Hurst, and Martin Peters — the three West Ham players who helped England win the 1966 World Cup. The club moved from their beloved Boleyn Ground to the London Stadium in 2016. West Ham won the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023, their first major European trophy.
